We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to join our Global Portfolio Management Team in Bad Vilbel, Germany. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for evaluating new opportunities in the generics and specialty generics segment, working across functions and geographies on different projects, and supporting the development of a robust generics and specialty generics pipeline.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating new product opportunities in the generic and specialty generic segment, coordinating across internal and external functions and markets within broad geographies
  • Preparing business cases for new product developments and presenting them for project approval to management boards
  • Reviewing selected therapeutic areas, providing analysis on indications, future trends, potential challenges, and opportunities, as well as unmet medical needs
  • Acting as the key contact person for allocated projects, including being familiar with future trends, gap analysis, etc.
  • Evaluating opportunities for in-licensing, co-development, and own development for new global projects, innovative generics, gap filling/harmonization, and product life-cycle ideas

You will also support key affiliates across the entire process - from product idea to product launch, conduct strategic and risk assessments of pipeline products, pipeline reviews, and prioritization, and build strong relationships with corporate departments, including project management, product development, IP, RA, BD&L, and market intelligence.

To succeed in this role, you should have a university degree in life sciences, ideally as a medical doctor or pharmacist, and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in product and/or portfolio management within the pharmaceutical industry, with experience in product lifecycle management being a plus.

You should possess a good understanding of the generic industry, including market trends and key players, knowledge of market mechanisms in Europe, and ideally also in MENA, APAC, and Eurasia, and be experienced in evaluating and launching generics and specialty generics, as well as value-added medicines.
