About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior General Counsel to join our team at Kipu Quantum, a leading quantum computing startup. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in guiding our company through complex legal landscapes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Oversee Legal Strategy: Collaborate with our leadership team to develop and implement a comprehensive legal strategy that aligns with our business objectives.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all company activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, and that all contracts reflect the company's best interests and comply with applicable laws.
  • Manage Legal Risks: Identify and manage legal risks, implementing proactive strategies to mitigate potential issues and advise on risk-related aspects of business decisions and operations.
  • Lead the Legal Team: Lead and mentor our Legal and IP team, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Protect and Manage IP: Support the development, protection, and management of our IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets in close collaboration with external patent attorneys.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Completed studies in law or legal studies or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience: Relevant professional experience with a significant portion in the technology sector, preferably within quantum computing, AI, or a related deep tech field.
  • Skills: Strong business acumen, with the ability to align legal strategies with business goals; excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership.
  • Language: Excellent command of English and German is necessary.
