Exciting Opportunity in Molecular Biology at Leibniz-Gemeinschaft

Leibniz-Gemeinschaft is seeking a Technical Assistant (m/f/d) for Molecular Biology (Full-time / near-full time) to join our laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing molecular biology lab work such as DNA extraction, PCR, DNA sequencing, and SNP Arrays
  • Handling sensitive environmental samples like hair, feces, and saliva traces from wild animals
  • Documenting lab processes and experiments in electronic lab database systems
  • Assisting with general lab maintenance and sample archive management
  • Contributing to the development of new lab methods and supporting current research projects

Required Qualifications

  • Completed training as a Biological-Technical Assistant or equivalent qualification
  • Practical experience in molecular biology methods
  • Diligent, structured, and conscientious work ethic
  • Reliability and enjoyment of teamwork
  • High degree of flexibility, commitment, and resilience
  • Proficient in MS-Office
  • Good English language skills
  • Interest in wildlife and conservation topics

Location: Gelnhausen

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week); near-full time (at least 75%)

Contract Type: Initially limited to 2 years with possibility of extension

Compensation: Expected according to pay group 7 TV-H
