Are you ready to take your career to the next level in a dynamic and innovative environment? We're looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our team at AP Sensing GmbH, a global leader in fiber optic-based sensor technology.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design and develop our hybrid (Cloud and Edge) IoT data infrastructure, including Data Lake and MLOps.
  • Build a robust and scalable data catalogue to effectively manage metadata, ensuring data governance, management, and accessibility.
  • Work on a highly efficient storage layer to handle large amounts of sensor data (petabytes), ensuring data integrity, speed, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Operations, and Business teams to perform requirements engineering.
  • Translate business challenges into scalable data architectures in collaboration with Data Engineers, MLEngineers, and Software Engineers.
  • Maintain knowledge of current technologies, future trends, and innovative methods through continuous training, cross-industry networking, and conference attendance.
Your Profile
  • Hold a technical degree, preferably in computer science.
  • Have at least 2 years of professional experience in data engineering, ideally in big data, IoT, and sensor data management.
  • Have excellent knowledge of state-of-the-art storage technologies and their productive use.
  • Be proficient in programming skills, particularly in Python or other programming languages.
  • Have experience with containerization (Docker and Kubernetes).
  • Have excellent analytical skills and a quick grasp.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of AI workloads and MLOps.
  • Be familiar with stream processing technologies (Apache Flink, Spark, Storm, or Kafka).
  • Have good knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and understand how to use the services optimally.
