Senior Railway Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Manager to join our team at Siemens Mobility GmbH. As a key member of our global project management team, you will be responsible for leading implementation projects that improve long-distance rail travel safety through cutting-edge signal technology based on the latest European Train Control System (ETCS) standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead projects focused on vehicle equipment, specifically Onboard Units, with project budgets ranging from tens to hundreds of millions.
- Analyze customer requirements and assess their technical feasibility.
- Define system architecture and collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Create technical planning and proposal documents, and document technical claims and risk management.
- Present technical solution concepts, including ETCS and National Train Control Systems (NTCs), and clarify any further details.
- Manage the bidding phase as Technical Manager.
- Share lessons learned from projects with the team.
- Degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience as a System Manager or Systems Engineer in railway technology, particularly in ETCS projects, development, or engineering.
- Strong understanding of railway technology systems and expertise in technical requirements management.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, such as Cenelec and TSI.
- Comfortable working in international environments and teams.
- Very good command of English and German language.
- Willingness to travel for business (up to 20%).
