Senior Flight Simulation Engineer

You will work closely with the Modelling and Simulation team to develop and certify Operational Suitability Data (OSD) and ensure timely approval from authorities. Your role will involve coordinating the development of Simulation Data (SIMD) and working with authorities to ensure their approval.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing flight tests required for OSD SIMD and QTG tests for FSTD qualification
  • Developing methods for validation simulation data to be processed and refined
  • Creating test requests, planning, and conducting flight tests on an engineering simulator
  • Closely aligning work with other areas of flight testing, such as handling qualities and performance campaigns

Reporting to the Head of Modelling and Simulation, you will also cooperate with Commercial, Flight Ops, Systems Engineering, Safety, Flight Test, and other teams.

Your day-to-day will involve ensuring the development, execution, and quality control of flight test recordings dedicated for OSD SIMD. You will also organize and participate in flight test campaigns for simulation data and support the development of Special Conditions FSTD.

Requirements include:

  • Engineering background (Bachelor or Master degree in aeronautical engineering, software engineering, or other engineering domains)
  • Knowledge and experience with QTG in flight simulation, large data sets management, and processing, and underlying regulations and industry standards
  • Background on one or more Flight Mechanics disciplines: aerodynamics, aircraft performance, handling qualities, flight control laws
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink, C++
  • Knowledge of OSD requirements and/or experience in OSD generation
  • Experience in interfacing with Aviation Authorities is a plus
  • Fluent English language skills are essential
