We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Editor to join our team at The Lancet Regional Health. As a key member of our editorial team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the content and direction of our journal.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Editor-in-Chief with journal organization and preparation, ensuring timely production of 12 journal issues.
- Oversee submissions and peer reviews, ensuring high-quality publications.
- Train new Editors and collaborate with other Lancet journal teams.
- Build international relationships to share impactful research findings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with medical research communities to solicit high-quality research.
- Attend conferences and other events to represent the journal and stay up-to-date with current developments in medical research.
- A medical degree in a relevant discipline or a higher degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline.
- Editorial experience at a senior level, with a good understanding of editorial process and journal production.
- Thorough knowledge of clinical and global public health pertaining to WHO Europe region.
- Ability to engage and build relationships with external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work efficiently to demanding deadlines.
- Excellent command of the English language and ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner.
- Proficiency with IT systems, including MS Office.
- Genuine commitment to equity in health and healthcare.
