Lead the Charge in Battery Innovation

We're seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our battery development efforts, driving innovation and engineering excellence in the renewable energy sector. As the Head of Battery Development, you'll be responsible for advancing the development of cutting-edge battery technologies, focusing on energy storage solutions that support the growing demand for renewable energy integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the overall strategy for battery development, aligning with our company's goals in renewable energy storage and sustainability.
  • Innovation and R&D: Lead research and development efforts to design and develop advanced battery technologies, including lithium-ion, solid-state, and other emerging chemistries for renewable energy applications.
  • Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers, scientists, and project managers to ensure innovation and efficient execution in product development.
  • Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end battery development lifecycle, from concept through to commercialization, ensuring product scalability, cost-efficiency, and performance standards.
  • Sustainability Focus: Champion the use of sustainable materials and processes in battery design and development, with a focus on reducing environmental impact and enhancing recyclability.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders including manufacturing, procurement, and quality control to ensure seamless product integration and supply chain readiness.
  • Technology Roadmap: Develop and maintain a clear technology roadmap to address current and future market demands, particularly in renewable energy storage solutions (e.g., solar, and wind energy storage).
  • Market and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed about the latest technological trends and competitive landscape in battery technology and renewable energy markets.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all product developments adhere to the highest standards of safety, performance, and regulatory compliance in the energy storage sector.
  • Partnerships and Alliances: Build and manage relationships with external partners, universities, and research institutions to stay ahead of technological advancements in battery chemistry and materials science.
Requirements:
  • Master's or PhD: In Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the renewable energy or energy storage industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of battery chemistry, particularly in lithium-ion, solid-state, and emerging battery technologies, and their applications in renewable energy storage.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary R&D teams with a track record of successfully developing and commercializing new battery technologies.
  • Innovation-driven: A demonstrated ability to drive innovation and translate research into commercially viable products that align with the needs of the renewable energy market.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with experience in overseeing complex, large-scale product development projects from concept to mass production.
  • Sustainability Focus: Passion for renewable energy and sustainability, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in developing environmentally friendly battery solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
