Job Title: Senior Engineer for SiC Manufacturing

As a Senior Engineer for SiC Manufacturing at Bertrandt, you will play a key role in transitioning new SiC products and processes from prototype stages to full-scale manufacturing. Your expertise in SiC processing will be instrumental in improving the stability of existing processes, minimizing defects, and enhancing yield and reliability for qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement process improvements to expand process capabilities and improve manufacturability
  • Create and manage trend and control charts to identify and address deviations in processes
  • Collaborate with the process engineering team to design and execute DOE studies
  • Maintain responsibility for daily process operations, equipment troubleshooting, and mentoring technicians
  • Oversee the release of documentation for assigned tasks and provide technical support to stakeholders in SiC technologies
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in a technical field, preferably related to microelectronics or an equivalent discipline
  • More than 5 years of experience in SiC processing, ideally within a SiC wafer fab, with expertise in at least one of the following areas: Etching and Cleaning, Oxidation and Annealing, Thin Film Deposition, or Implantation
  • Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles
  • Proficiency with documentation systems and basic data analysis tools
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across system, process, and equipment levels, with a hands-on approach and a strong sense of ownership
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills in English; additional proficiency in German and/or Chinese is advantageous
  • Strategic thinker with a well-organized, independent work style
  • Effective team player in a multicultural environment
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to step beyond the comfort zone and take on additional responsibilities
