Neurobiology Professorship Opportunity

The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is a renowned research center with an esteemed faculty and staff. We are seeking a W2 Professor for Developmental Biology to join our team and contribute to the field of neurobiology.
In this role, you will be responsible for teaching developmental biology at an advanced level and conducting research in the field of developmental neurobiology. Your expertise should include comparative and cellular-mechanistic perspectives, with a focus on the development of the structural and functional architecture in the nervous system. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies such as spatial transcriptomics, scRNAseq, and viral tracing.
The successful candidate will receive a competitive package of start-up funding and scientific staff positions. Remuneration will be according to the German W-Besoldung at level W2. The position is expected to be converted to a permanent professorship after a positive evaluation.
