About the Role

SAP is seeking a skilled Linux Support Engineer to join our Garden Team, responsible for the development and maintenance of our tailored and hardened Debian-based Linux derivative for cloud-native applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to users experiencing issues with Garden Linux
  • Consult with users interested in adopting Garden Linux and drive the adoption process
  • Develop and maintain information assets relevant to end-users, including documentation, notes, tutorials, and support tickets
  • Represent Garden Linux at SAP events and open-source community meetups
Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and Debian
  • Strong problem-solving skills and empathy for the customer
  • Willingness to develop skills and work in the direction of quality and operations
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Previous experience as a Support Engineer, Consultant, or System Administrator in an enterprise environment is a plus
  • Valid Linux Foundation certifications or completed trainings are an advantage
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized applications is desired
  • Experience with bash, python, and GitHub is nice to have
  • German language skills are preferred
