Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Import Supervisor to join our team at Crane Worldwide Logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling import activities on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers, resolving concerns and interacting with customer service, operations, and sales personnel to resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Supervise import documentation and oversee the obtaining and processing of Customs releases and other government agency releases as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the release of goods from carriers, customs, or other governmental agency examinations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 5 years of related experience; minimum 3 years of industry experience preferred; minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.

Physical Demands

  • Position may require extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing, and walking.
  • Some light lifting may be required in some instances.

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of Customs regulations, tariffs, and interpretations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using units of U.S. currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and various PC-based software.
  • Must be detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
