Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineer (f/m/d) specializing in propulsion systems, you will play a crucial role in designing propulsion systems for hybrid locomotives capable of reaching speeds of up to 230 km/h and transporting substantial loads.
- Collaborate with an international engineering team across various locations, including Europe, Asia, and North America.
- Take charge of the design, specification, and technical discussions regarding propulsion systems for our electric and hybrid-electric locomotives, ensuring customer requirements are met while focusing on the integration of battery and hydrogen fuel cell technologies.
- Manage a diverse range of technical interfaces, encompassing electrical drive technology, operational management, and mechanical integration.
- Engage in all project phases, from initial concept and bid preparation to technical execution, customer discussions, testing, delivery, and warranty support.
- Stay attuned to market trends and requirements to guide suppliers in developing advanced drive components.
- Participate in laboratory and vehicle testing to enhance system functionality and support the homologation process.
- Pursue continuous personal development, with opportunities to evolve into a technical expert or a project coordinator.
Qualifications and Skills
- A master's degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics, with a focus on drive technology and/or power electronics.
- Extensive professional experience in engineering, particularly in electric drives and traction applications, ideally within the rail vehicle sector, along with proficiency in simulation tools.
- Strong analytical skills to comprehend and define complex systems, coupled with a structured approach to problem-solving and documentation.
- Experience working with diverse international teams and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English, with a willingness to learn German up to level B2.
