Siemens Mobility GmbH is a leading supplier in the field of mobility, and we are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our team. As a System Engineer for Propulsion Systems, you will be responsible for designing the propulsion system of hybrid locomotives, ensuring they run efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and technically clarify the propulsion system for electric and hybrid-electric locomotives.
- Implement customer requirements, design components, and support suppliers.
- Focus on the integration and operation of battery and hydrogen fuel cells.
- Manage technical interfaces, including electrical drive technology, operational management, and control.
- Participate in all project phases, from concept to delivery and warranty.
- Guide suppliers in the development of drive components based on market requirements and trends.
- Test and improve functions in the laboratory and vehicle tests, supporting the homologation process.
Requirements
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics with a focus on drive technology and/or power electronics.
- Several years of professional experience in engineering, preferably in electric drives and traction applications.
- Proficiency in simulation tools and ability to understand and define complex systems.
- Experience working with international teams and liaising with stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, with willingness to learn German up to level B2.
