Certification Engineer in Operations and Maintenance

We are seeking a highly skilled Certification Engineer to join our team in Hamburg, Germany. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth in-service certification process of our offshore wind farms, Sandbank and DanTysk.
Key Responsibilities- Manage O&M certification tasks in accordance with German regulations, integrating them into operations.
- Keep the certification scope and strategy up-to-date in a changing regulatory environment.
- Coordinate tasks and activities across asset management, consenting, operations, and engineering, focusing on cost, quality, and risk management.
- Ensure timely reporting to authorities and follow up on requirements and closure of conditions.
- Participate in authority meetings and stakeholder associations.
- Lead technical and commercial negotiations with inspectors, certification bodies, and service providers, ensuring certification requirements are anchored in commercial agreements and contracts.
- Collaborate with Certification Engineers across European wind projects to harmonize certification processes and utilize best practices.
- Contribute to the Certification Team's improvement of procedures and tools in line with the BA Wind quality management system.
- University degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Broad technical understanding, preferably first experience in offshore wind or a related industry.
- Proven project management skills and ability to communicate clearly in a multicultural work environment.
- Experience in managing independent certification bodies.
- Knowledge of certification in offshore wind projects, including related codes and standards.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and interpret regulations and engineering problems.
- Motivated to work in multinational teams and ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent in German and English.
