Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Planning Engineer to join our team at DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading small project teams in the preparation of comprehensive environmental plans for medium to large-scale planning projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management and coordination of small project teams to prepare environmental plans and reports.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on environmental planning and management issues, including natural conservation and related procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage the public relations activities in collaboration with clients.
  • Develop and implement landscape management plans, environmental screenings, and other related reports.
  • Conduct biodiversity surveys and digitalize the results.
  • Manage and oversee the procurement of environmental planning services from external providers.
  • Support the team leadership in addressing technical questions and participate in cross-functional topics related to environmental and geo-services in the Region Mitte.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in environmental planning, landscape architecture, geography, biology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the field of environmental planning, with a strong understanding of project management and coordination.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • A valid driver's license (Class B) is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the German Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSchG) and the Hessian State Nature Conservation Act (HKNatSchG).
  • Experience in ecological and environmental monitoring and management.
  • Knowledge of climate protection and sustainability management.
  • Certification in environmental planning and management.
