Material Supply Chain Manager
IDS International is seeking a highly skilled Material Supply Chain Manager to support the "Total Maintenance Contract for the Kaiserslautern Military Community." The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering and receiving site construction materials, maintaining accountability of all received materials, and ensuring timely delivery of critical supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective supply chain management.
- Review and evaluate all purchase requests for complete and accurate information, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Track progress of materials/purchase requests to completion, identifying and mitigating potential delays or issues.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to ensure positive and efficient relations, negotiating favorable terms and conditions as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors concerning prioritization of ordered materials, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing stockouts.
- Plan and implement purchasing strategies and activities consistent with the overall aims and requirements of the contract.
- Track on-hand stock levels and determine re-order points for all recurring purchase items, ensuring optimal inventory management.
- Conduct periodic inventory of all DI assets, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
- Organize and manage purchase and inventory files, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Supervise Local National purchasing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Perform a monthly inventory of the site's materials, ensuring all material is on hand or ordered in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or Foreign Country Equivalent.
Language Requirements:
- English and German at level 4 proficiency: At this level an employee is required to possess a high degree of proficiency in both written and spoken English, including the ability to translate the host country language into precise and correct English, and English into the applicable foreign language. On occasion, an employee at this level might be expected to act as an interpreter in situations where considerable importance attaches to proper word meaning.
Computer Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
