Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Electronic Systems Product Engineer to join our team at Cummins Inc. in a product-focused role specializing in engineering.

About the Role

  • Translate product requirements into technical requirements for electronic and electrical systems.
  • Configure and validate hardware and software systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality component delivery.
  • Investigate electronic application and systems problems, understand causal mechanisms, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Apply and support the enhancement of electronic application and systems development processes and tools.
  • Make informed decisions regarding electronic and electrical system design, requirements, calibration, and testing.
  • Provide independent execution of established work processes and systems.
  • Develop and utilize tools for simulation, calibration, and product life maintenance.

  • Possess strong communication and project management skills, essential for effectively collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Entry-level or early-career professionals with relevant experience gained through internships, co-op programs, or extracurricular activities.
  • Skilled in solving product problems using data-driven processes that protect the customer, identify root causes, and implement robust solutions.
  • Experienced in specifying and applying electronic hardware and interconnections to measure and control systems.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge in EMC/EMI (Electromagnetic Compatibility and Immunity)
  • Knowledge in Matlab/Simulink
  • Knowledge in LabView/DIAde

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
  • Entry level/Early career professional. Preferred candidates would have relevant experience working in either a temporary student employment environment or as an early career professional in a relevant technical discipline area.
