Master Thesis: Experimental Setup for Single Photon Detector Characterization

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our research team as a Master Thesis student. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to design and build a characterization setup to find the best SPAD arrays for our specific application.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and build a characterization setup for SPAD arrays
- Gain practical experience working with lasers, optics, and electrical measurements
- Collaborate with a research team consisting of industry and academic partners
- Gain understanding of ion traps, optical clocks, and quantum computing
- Develop a high interest in scientific research combined with a passion for optics and lab work
- Have a solid foundation in optics and experience working in an optics lab
- Have a good understanding of laser physics and programming languages (preferably Python)
- Be motivated by improving measurements and pushing the limits on accuracy and stability
- Enjoy networking and have broad communication skills
- Have English skills, both written and spoken, and German language skills are a plus
