Product Innovation Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Material Expert at Momentive, you will utilize your technical expertise to drive the success of our innovative materials with customers. With your in-depth understanding of material processing, you will support our customers in achieving optimal product performance while collaborating closely with teams from Marketing, Sales, and Research & Development. You will test our materials thoroughly, compare new and existing materials, and accompany our customers from initial selection to sampling, problem-solving, and implementation in high-volume manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be the primary point of contact for our global Sales Team, with a focus on the automotive market, providing exceptional customer support from market introduction to testing and troubleshooting, including on-site support in the EMEAI region.
  • You will leverage your extensive product knowledge and application expertise to support customers and global R&D teams in solving complex challenges. You will translate customer requirements and needs into concrete solutions, influencing the development of our existing and new products.
  • In close collaboration with R&D, you will develop new materials by defining clear technical objectives, supporting innovative formulations, and introducing application-specific testing procedures and guidelines that provide genuine value to our customers.
  • You will develop and implement new evaluation and description methods to optimize our laboratory and customer-specific application support processes.
  • You will build strong, trusting customer relationships and support them in process, production, and development areas by developing in-depth product knowledge and providing tailored solutions for their specific applications.

Requirements:

  • You hold a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • With at least 3-5 years of experience in the electronics industry, particularly in product development and/or technology, you possess comprehensive knowledge of the chemical and physical interactions that affect the properties of end products. Your experience in a laboratory setting and your ability to quickly adapt to new testing procedures and equipment are notable strengths.
  • You have experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects. Your strong customer orientation is reflected in your ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical solutions and integrate customer and application CTQs (Critical to Quality) into new laboratory and screening methods.
  • You are skilled in building sustainable customer relationships and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Your ability to translate complex technical requirements into customer-oriented solutions makes you a valuable partner for our customers.
  • You work effectively in a cross-functional, international team and bring strong team spirit, social, and intercultural competencies.
  • You possess fluent English skills in both spoken and written form and are highly experienced in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
