Job Title: Application Development Specialist

Summary:

As an Application Development Specialist at Momentive, you will support the Marketing, Sales, and Application Development Engineering (ADE) departments with your application-specific knowledge and expertise in material processing. You will test and compare existing and new materials in the lab and assist with lab test requests, material sampling, and troubleshooting. The Sales Team will receive material recommendations from you. Through collaborative teamwork, you will contribute to our customers receiving the best technical support for the application of our products. Additional tasks include:

Responsibilities Include:

  • You will support Marketing, Sales, and ADE in handling customer inquiries from the EIMEA region for existing and new products.
  • Together with the global Technology Team, you will assist in problem-solving with your experience in product application and product knowledge.
  • You will plan and conduct lab tests independently, evaluate the results, and present the findings. You will be confident in the application and maintenance of our laboratory technology and ensure that you and others adhere to our EHS standards.
  • You will create product-specific data packages, including technical data sheets, material information, etc., for existing and new materials to help our Marketing and Sales Teams market our products and impress customers.
  • You will support the validation and optimization of methods by transferring customer feedback to application development and laboratory work.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role:

  • A successful completion of a technical education or equivalent, or equivalent knowledge acquired through relevant work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the electronics industry with tasks in product development and/or application technology.
  • Practical knowledge in the field of chemistry and material science, as well as the essential chemical and physical interactions affecting product properties.
  • Familiarity with common laboratory safety regulations and knowledge of proper handling of chemicals and hazardous substances.
  • Excellent skills in implementing application and customer CTQs in new laboratory and screening methods.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
  • Good implementation competence of theoretical knowledge in practical application and learning transfer to new questions.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and technical support in production.
  • Enjoy working in a cross-functional team and interdisciplinarily.
  • Open-minded personality with a high hands-on mentality.
  • Good and practical knowledge of MS Office programs, especially Excel and statistical basics, and Design of Experiment (DoE).
  • Good communication skills in German and English, both in writing and speaking.
  • SAP knowledge (Business Warehouse, QC data, etc.).
