About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering to join our faculty at Fachhochschule Dortmund. As a leading institution in the field of electrical engineering, we offer a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative mechatronic systems and to shape the future of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and conduct research in the field of mechatronics and electrical engineering, bringing your industry experience to the table.
  • Develop and deliver lectures in applied teaching in all bachelor's and master's degree programs in the department.
  • Have a passion for knowledge transfer in fundamental subjects of electrical engineering.
  • Be willing to conduct lectures in English.
  • Take on tasks in the self-administration of the university.
  • Be interested in participating in and shaping cross-departmental and university-wide networks and cooperations.
  • Be willing to work on new teaching methods and project-oriented teaching.
  • Have an interest in expanding the e-learning offer and in transferring research-based learning.
  • Be willing to conduct events in English.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • You can demonstrate outstanding performance in your studies and dissertation.
  • You have in-depth engineering knowledge and industry experience in the field of mechatronics.
  • Desirable are competences in the fields of automation technology or drive technology.
  • You pursue your teaching tasks with high quality requirements and the corresponding temporal commitment.
  • You are communicatively strong and team-oriented.
  • You master the German and English languages in word and writing.
  • Desirable are experiences in the application and processing as well as in the management of research and development projects.
