About the Role:

The successful candidate will take responsibility for one or several areas related to the PETRA IV design and operation, such as:

  • Development of software for commissioning of the PETRA IV machine
  • Beam optics design of the PETRA IV main ring and injectors
  • Experimental verification of new algorithms and tools at PETRA III and support of PETRA III operation
  • Beam dynamics studies for PETRA IV

About You:
  • PhD in physics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field or equivalent expertise, skills, and experience
  • Extended experience in storage ring beam dynamics
  • Understanding of methods of electron optics correction
  • Strong background in computing and software engineering
  • Good programming skills, preferably in Python and C++
  • Good communication skills
