About the Role

Xylem Water Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our global tax strategy team, you will play a crucial role in providing indirect tax advice and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage VAT Compliance: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of VAT compliance processes across the organization.
  • Intercompany VAT Interactions: Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient VAT reporting and compliance.
  • VAT Tax Audits: Collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth VAT tax audits and minimize risks.
  • VAT Efficiency in Supply Chain Management: Work closely with operations and logistics teams to optimize VAT efficiency in supply chain management.
  • Proactive VAT Planning: Develop and implement proactive VAT planning strategies to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  • Indirect Tax Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential indirect tax risks through close collaboration with finance, sales, legal, and other stakeholders.
  • Indirect Tax Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive indirect tax strategy to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Center of Excellence: Establish Xylem Water Solutions as a center of excellence for indirect tax issues, providing technical assistance and education to finance teams.
  • VAT Documentation and Procedures: Ensure VAT rules and documentation are incorporated into Xylem Water Solutions' procedures.
  • External Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with external tax consultants and other professional associates to stay up-to-date on tax developments.
Requirements
  • 4+ Years of Tax/Indirect Tax Experience: Proven experience in tax and indirect tax, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or customs environment.
  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, ideally combined with a tax degree or certification.
  • European Statutory and GAAP Reporting: Experience with European statutory and GAAP (IFRS) reporting, including VAT reporting standards.
  • Complex Multinational Environment: Experience working in a complex, US multinational environment.
  • Language Skills: Business fluent English, German would be great, additional languages nice to have.
