Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Java API Specialist to join our backend team. As part of our growth and product development, this role will focus on connecting our application to new APIs, extending, and maintaining existing API connections. With a heterogeneous hotel tech world, every new API presents a new challenge to tackle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing APIs for a SaaS backend with complex business logic
  • Ensuring the correctness of your code
  • Collaborating with backend engineers on designing and implementing API features
  • Addressing emerging code complexity by questioning and improving architecture and concepts
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Java, with knowledge of its development up to Java 21
  • Familiarity with technologies like Gradle, Spring, JPA, Scripting (Shell, Python), and PostgreSQL
  • Understanding of networking, operating systems, and distributed computing fundamentals
  • Commitment to code quality and refactoring code where necessary
  • Ability to dig deep to find the root cause of any problem before escalating responsibility
  • Continuous extension and sharing of professional knowledge

This position is based in Berlin. You need a permanent residence in Germany.
