Job Overview
As a Customs and Trade Compliance Analyst within the Global Trade Services (GTS) division, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating customs and international trade operations. Your responsibilities will include evaluating trade compliance risks through comprehensive data analysis and crafting innovative process solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Enhance and automate the internal control framework for customs and international trade operations.
• Assist in customs and trade audits, analyze audit findings, and recommend corrective actions.
• Independently draft work instructions and organizational guidelines.
• Manage projects related to customs and international trade matters.
• Implement appropriate customs procedures tailored to diverse business scenarios, particularly local clearance processes.
• Oversee the operational activities of customs brokers and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct data analysis and assess key performance indicators to uncover compliance risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Stay informed about changes in trade regulations and legislation, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and recommending necessary actions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational training in logistics, international trade, or a related field.
• Additional training in customs and international trade, such as customs declarant or customs specialist certification.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in trade compliance and customs clearance operations, including familiarity with simplified customs procedures.
• Strong understanding of customs legislation, particularly regarding customs procedures and valuation.
• Experience in developing and implementing internal control systems.
• Initial exposure to customs and trade audits.
• Proficient in IT systems, including SAP and other business intelligence applications.
• Advanced skills in MS Office applications, especially Excel (including Power Pivot and Access), with additional experience in Power BI being advantageous.
• Analytical mindset with a process-oriented approach, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel as required for the role.
As an ideal candidate, you possess a comprehensive understanding of operational processes and the ability to assess these activities legally, driving optimization of customs procedures to ensure sustainable application of best practices.
