Aerospace Engineer for Damage Tolerance Analysis

We are part of the OHB Space and Technology Group, a leading international aerospace company that develops, manufactures, and tests essential components for launcher programs, spacecraft, satellites, and defense applications. Our unique manufacturing technologies enable us to create high-performance products made of metal and fiber composites, such as large load-bearing structures and cryotanks.
Your TasksAs a Master thesis analysis of damage tolerance specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting literature research on the influence of circular delaminations on the mesh
- Comparing structured and non-structured mesh calculations
- Developing a tool for structured mesh generation in ABAQUS
- Applying the calculation method at component level
- Documenting the results
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be enrolled in the Master's programme in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field
- To have knowledge of technical calculation and composite materials
- To have initial experience in working with FEM (ABAQUS)
- To have first programming experience with Python (desirable)
- To be able to work independently, structured, and goal-oriented
