About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team at VÆRIDION GmbH. In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for configuration and mechanical design integration of our novel battery system for the CS-23 all-electric aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design and configuration of battery modules and systems.
  • Develop detailed design specifications, drawings, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analyses to model and optimize the performance of composites, metals, and adhesives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of battery components.
  • Troubleshoot design issues and implement corrective actions to enhance system safety and performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in battery system design.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or battery industries.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for designing complex mechanical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for modeling composites, metals, and adhesives.
  • Experience in developing and validating designs for high-performance applications.
  • Aerospace certification processes and documentation knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of innovative mechanical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential; fluent German or other language would be beneficial.
