About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renewable Energy Originator to join our team at Vattenfall. As a key member of our Business Area Markets, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organization and driving our vision to meet our customers' needs in a changing market landscape.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for originating new business in renewable energy markets, identifying deal opportunities, and negotiating complex transactions with external partners. You will also support and work on large M&A transactions and divestment cases, building and maintaining relationships with renewable generators and customers in the German and Nordic energy markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate new business in renewable energy markets, aligning with Vattenfall's strategy and purpose
  • Identify deal opportunities, with a strong focus on mid- and long-term renewable energy solutions, power purchase agreements, corporate power purchase agreements, and hydrogen offtake
  • Negotiate and structure complex transactions with external partners
  • Support and work on large M&A transactions and divestment cases
  • Build and maintain relationships with renewable generators and customers in the German and Nordic energy markets
  • Lead the deal process from beginning to end, including liaison with internal stakeholders and planning and carrying out negotiations
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in the relevant power market, ideally in renewable energy origination
  • Academic degree in a technical or economic field, Master of Science or higher
  • Proper understanding of the power energy market
  • Proven track record of deal initiation to deal closing
  • Good understanding of the hydrogen value chain
  • Ideal understanding of investment banking and M&A transactions
  • Resilient and determined to execute Vattenfall's strategy and reach our goals
  • Strong networker and able to build trust and engagement, both within the company and externally
  • Strong commercial sense and a good understanding of trading, risk management, credit risk, back office, and finance functions
  • Willing communicator, able to coordinate the deal approvals process within Vattenfall
  • Able to work independently to originate and close deals, but comfortable in a team environment
