About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Working Student WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team at reisetopia GmbH. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining high-quality WordPress solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in planning, developing, and maintaining WordPress solutions, including custom themes, plugins, and new features.
  • Producing modular, scalable, well-tested, and documented code under the guidance of senior developers.
  • Contributing to an understandable and extensible application architecture with a focus on performance, availability, and security.
  • Supporting the publishing, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of code through a CI/CD deployment pipeline.
  • Participating in code reviews and maintaining coding standards.
  • Collaborating with designers, product managers, and the software engineering team to turn responsive designs into effective web solutions.
  • Staying updated with the latest web technologies and WordPress trends.
About You

We are looking for a motivated student who is eager to learn and contribute to our tech projects. The ideal candidate should bring:

  • Current enrollment in a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering).
  • Experience with PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
  • Understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles.
  • Knowledge of third-party (RESTful) APIs.
  • Proficiency in using code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude in keeping the team informed and suggesting solutions.
  • Passionate, driven, empathetic, and capable of working independently without direct supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English - German is a plus, but not necessary.
