Offshore Shift Lead

The Vestas Service Offshore organization is responsible for the operation and maintenance of offshore wind farms in Northern and Central Europe. We have a significant presence in the region, with over 4 GW under service contracts and a growing pipeline.

You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the newest and largest generation of Vestas offshore wind turbines, the V-. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-profile project, the He Dreiht wind farm, located in the German North Sea.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all offshore operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
  • Lead a team of professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement production planning and performance strategies.
  • Plan and execute servicing and maintenance plans for wind turbines.
  • Maintain a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance reports to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate team meetings, strategy deployment, and technical focus groups.
  • Manage the SOV crew interface and coordinate vessel operations.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for vessel operations.
  • Manage wind farm downtime and control.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example.
  • Conduct turbine inspections, safety walks, and auditing.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, with a first-time fix and service duration.
  • Participate in morning briefings and toolbox talks.
  • Plan and coordinate upgrade campaigns.
  • Serve as the operational point of escalation for offshore or vessel-related issues.
  • Oversee the management of sub-contractors onboard the vessel.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a degree level in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent English and German language skills, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience with electrical systems, preferably in wind or offshore environments with HV.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Full driver's license.
  • IT skills, preferably in SAP and MS Office.
  • Proactive decision-maker with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Accountable and responsible individual who takes ownership of operations.
  • Effective line manager who supports colleagues.
  • Ability to work efficiently, simplify tasks, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Comfortable working offshore, with the ability to cope with the associated challenges.
  • Highly safety-minded and comfortable working at heights.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a curiosity to improve quality and work methods.
  • Motivated by working in a high-performing team that delivers high standards for customers.
  • Recognizes own limitations and seeks help when needed.
