Geospatial Research Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Geospatial Research Assistant to join our team at HERE Technologies. As a Geospatial Research Assistant, you will be working on geospatial research topics within our Frankfurt core team connected to a globally organized team of experts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to real-world projects and applications, collaborating with your university.
  • Work on geospatial data and services, building the next generation of HERE's automated core map data processing and visualization environments.
  • Develop and extend an interactive web application with OSS tools, like Geoserver and OpenLayers, to present analytical results and insights in web-based applications.
Requirements:
  • Student looking for an internship in an intercultural engineering team of map makers.
  • Background in geography, geo information science, computer science, computational geometry, or any related science.
  • Practical skills in at least one of the following tools/languages: Python, Scala, Java, and experience with databases.
  • Familiarity with QGIS or ArcGIS and knowledge about maps and the importance of location.
  • Highly motivated to run a research topic in a tech company within an intercultural and interdisciplinary team of research engineers.
Location:

We are open to hiring in Germany (Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin), the Netherlands (Eindhoven), and Poland (Krakow).
