Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Hahn, Germany. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and compliance within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Investigate accidents and incidents related to environmental, health, and safety matters.
- Maintain up-to-date Health and Safety Status Boards to track key performance indicators.
- Actively contribute to improving the health and safety culture within the organization.
- Regularly review national legislation impacting safety practices.
- Identify areas for improvement and work towards best-in-industry standards.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance the company's overall culture and service quality.
- Prioritize and manage EHS programs to reduce risks.
- Ensure scaffolding inspections comply with national legislation.
- Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspection checks and assist with fire alarm checks and drills.
- Coordinate third-party team training and deliver in-house toolbox talk training where appropriate.
- Support daily/weekly tasks and larger group projects at the Hahn site and other PAML sites.
Requirements
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety legislation.
- Ability to perform risk assessments.
- Experience with document management systems.
- Ability to track and manage department action items.
- Experience with adverse event investigation and file management.
- Ability to track corrective actions and live risk assessments.
- Experience with data processing and report generation.
- Ability to establish and manage risk reporting systems.
- Applicants must have the unrestricted right to live and work in the European Union and a valid EU driver's license.
- Interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- Good knowledge of English (written and oral) / German would be an advantage.
- Preferably a valid German security clearance according to § 7 of German Aviation Security.
