Sustainable Cluster Computing Expert

At DESY, we are seeking a highly skilled Linux expert to join our IT group. The successful candidate will work on scientific compute and storage infrastructures, collaborating with internal teams, user communities, and European partners as part of the EU project 'Research Facilities 2.0'. This project aims to enhance the sustainability of large scientific infrastructures.
The DESY IT group offers comprehensive IT services across all DESY divisions and operates large-scale IT infrastructures for scientific data management and analysis. As a Linux expert, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of these infrastructures, ensuring they meet the needs of our researchers and scientists.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Linux expert who can work independently and as part of a team. If you have a strong background in Linux and a passion for scientific computing, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement efficient Linux-based solutions for scientific data management and analysis
- Collaborate with internal teams and user communities to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions
- Work with European partners to ensure seamless integration of our IT infrastructures
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our Linux-based IT infrastructures
