Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network WAN DevOps Architect to join our team at SAP. As a key member of our WAN team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing network infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our global customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in IaaS and IaC, with a focus on network infrastructure development and operations.
  • Automate network infrastructure and help optimize network automation processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest hyperscalers' technologies and understand their business potential.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible to deploy, operate and maintain Network Infrastructures.
  • Build, operate and maintain customer to cloud, cross-cloud and private cloud connectivity services.
  • Drive technology strategy by identifying and implementing innovative solutions for customer and DC connectivity.
  • Utilize OSS Monitoring and Logging solutions like ELK, Grafana and Prometheus to improve MTTR for Critical Infrastructure.
  • Collaborate effectively with a global and diverse team, including network engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Network Architect, you will work closely with our SAP Cloud colleagues and LoBs to develop and maintain services that are required for the applications we offer to our customers. You will be responsible for designing and contributing to the WAN services monitoring and automation, as well as new service development based on customer needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or proven equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years technical experience with cloud, data center and ISP environment, as well as IaaS and IaC, and some experience in network automation.
  • 8+ years and deep knowledge of wide area network protocols, including BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and data center routing and switching.
  • Deep knowledge of SSL, IPSec, DMVPN solutions and understanding and experience with DDoS solution is a plus.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools (Git, GitHub, CI/CD Pipelines).
  • Experience with Linux OS environment, including virtualized/containerized infrastructure.
  • Knowledge in at least two programming languages (preferably Golang, Python).
  • Strong understanding of the business potential of the latest hyperscalers' technologies. Related certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team. Proficiency in German and English written and oral.
