About the Role

SAP is seeking a skilled Network WAN Engineer to join our global team. As a key member of our WAN team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our wide area network infrastructure.

In this role, you will work closely with our cloud colleagues to develop and maintain services that support our customers' applications. You will also collaborate with our LoBs to identify and implement innovative solutions for customer and DC connectivity.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network infrastructure solutions using IaaS and IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Automate network infrastructure and optimize network automation processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest hyperscalers' technologies and understand their business potential.
  • Collaborate with a global and diverse team to deliver high-quality services.
  • Participate in 24/7 operations model and maintain SAP's global network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or proven equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years technical experience with cloud, data center, and ISP environment, as well as IaaS and IaC.
  • Deep knowledge of wide area network protocols, including BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, and data center routing and switching.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools (Git, GitHub, CI/CD Pipelines).
  • Experience with Linux OS environment, including virtualized/containerized infrastructure.
  • Knowledge in at least two programming languages (preferably Golang, Python).
