About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Institute of Experimental Cardiovascular Medicine (IEKM) at Universitätsklinikum Freiburg. The successful candidate will work on a fully-funded project to develop and validate a novel catheter-based reperfusion imaging approach for cardiac electrophysiology.
About the Project
The project aims to investigate the mechanisms of cardiac ischaemia-reperfusion arrhythmias and develop a catheter design that allows for two-zone reperfusion in vivo. The researcher will work closely with our team to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and publish research findings in top-tier scientific journals.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiments to study whole heart electrophysiology using advanced imaging approaches
- Test and validate a fundamentally new catheter for reperfusing ischaemic myocardium
- Conduct studies to validate reperfusion approaches against existing gold standards
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in a discipline relevant to biomedical research or medicine
- Hands-on research experience with imaging methods
- Track record in cardiac biology or electrophysiology is highly desired
- Scientific curiosity and the drive to actively shape your own research project are a must
- Excellent communication skills in English (B2 or higher)
