Cloud Smart Data Platform Developer

At the Fraunhofer IPT in Aachen, our team of over 530 employees works together to make production more digital, flexible, and sustainable.
The fourth industrial revolution is transforming industrial production by combining traditional methods with new technologies like IoT sensors, edge, and cloud systems. This brings new possibilities for process data acquisition and evaluation. With many smart sensors connected to production, each using various protocols, a centralized universal cloud data acquisition system is needed. We aim to develop a cloud-based system that can handle multiple protocols and integrate services like data processing pipelines, time synchronization servers, and data storage servers.
- Develop a cloud-based smart data acquisition system for wireless smart sensors.
- Integrate data servers to handle various protocols such as MQTT, UDP, and LwM2M.
- Implement data pipelines to process sensor data.
- Integrate a database to store sensor and process data.
- Implement APIs to integrate with the Asset Administration shell.
- Create a dashboard to visualize the sensor platform and data.
- Validate the system with smart sensors.
We are looking for a highly motivated student with a degree in electronics, computer science, information technology, or a comparable subject. The ideal candidate has initial experience with cloud application development (Python, C++). Basic knowledge of IoT protocols and time synchronization is advantageous. A high degree of initiative and team spirit is a must. Good language skills in German and/or English are also required.
