Job Description

At Fraunhofer IPT in Aachen, we are working on making production more digital, flexible, and sustainable. The fourth industrial revolution is increasing the flexibility of industrial production and optimizing it by linking traditional production with new technologies such as IoT sensors, edge, and cloud systems. This creates new possibilities for process data acquisition and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a cloud-based smart data acquisition system for wireless smart sensors
  • Integrate data servers to handle various protocols such as MQTT, UDP, and LwM2M
  • Implement data pipelines to process sensor data
  • Integrate a database to store sensor and process data
  • Implement APIs to integrate with the Asset Administration shell
  • Creation of a dashboard to visualize the sensor platform and data
  • Validate the system with smart sensors
Requirements
  • Studying electronics, computer science, information technology, or a comparable subject
  • Initial experience with cloud application development (Python, C++)
  • Basic knowledge of IoT protocols and time synchronization is advantageous
  • A high degree of initiative and team spirit
  • Good language skills in German and/or English
