About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team at Burckhardt Compression. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining intelligent technology for our condition monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud services (microservices, databases, IoT components) that run in the public cloud (Azure)
- Monitor and ensure the availability of cloud components and IoT devices
- Extend the existing cloud architecture with new components and optimize its performance
- Maintain, scale, and operate cloud components to ensure high availability and efficiency
- Implement cost, scalability, and efficiency optimizations
- Advise the development team on the selection of new cloud components and ensure their integration
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery processes and deploy applications in the production environment
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure secure operations and support certification processes
- Communicate with service providers and work with product management and development to design and maintain the overall solution
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Expertise in IoT cloud infrastructure and experience with cloud providers (preferably Azure)
- Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform) and Linux experience
- Scripting skills (PowerShell/Bash/Python) and DevOps and security best practices
- Experience in maintaining remote systems (edge devices, servers, etc.) and good knowledge of English/German
