We're seeking a highly skilled professional to join our International Law & Global Trading team within our Legal & Compliance business function in Düsseldorf.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise Uniper's global energy business on national and European regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Review physical and financial commodity transactions, such as power, natural gas, and emissions, to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead or assist internal investigations and responses to inquiries related to trading compliance, including REMIT II and MAR.
- Play a key role in implementing energy market and financial regulation requirements.
- Create and present training sessions for front office and support colleagues on trading compliance.
- Coordinate with the Legal & Compliance team and stakeholders to resolve day-to-day trading compliance issues.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Strong academic background in law or economics.
- Minimum 10 years of experience advising on national and European regulations, particularly in commodities or financial market trading.
- Specific experience in MiFID II, EMIR, and MAR is required.
- Experience in REMIT II and/or SFTR is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, judgment, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take the lead and work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written command of the English language is essential, with German language skills desirable.
