Business Professor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Business courses in our Campus Within Walls program. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Business and experience in teaching in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities:

• Teach Business courses to incarcerated students in a correctional setting
• Develop and implement effective teaching strategies in a setting without internet access
• Meet college deadlines and submit required reporting (including grades) on time
• Interact with staff, students, and internal and external constituencies in a professional manner

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Business required or a Master's degree in any teaching field and at least 18 credit hours of postgraduate study in Business
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Adept knowledge of instructional technologies
• Excellent interpersonal and native or near-native oral and written English skills
• Ability to meet college deadlines
• Must pass Virginia Department of Corrections background screening

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior working experience in a community college or other higher education setting
• Prior working experience in a correctional center
• Professional experience in PeopleSoft or similar student registration software program
• Prior working experience with Learning Management Systems, especially Canvas
• Professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite Software, in particular, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
