Corporate Commodity Engineer

As a Corporate Commodity Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving optimized pooling activities for direct materials, leveraging connections within procurement, improving competition, focusing on sustainability, and intensifying collaboration with top suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:- Technical Expertise: Act as the technical expert and coach for a wide range of Standard Semiconductors, providing guidance and support to the SCM Pooled Direct organization.
- Commodity Strategy: Collaborate with commercial partners to resolve and drive the commodity strategy for assigned material fields, encompassing Cost and Value Engineering, Supplier Portfolio management, Innovation management, Supplier Quality Management, and Sustainability.
- Portfolio Management: Develop, implement, and foster a standardization approach for raw materials, components, technology, and base specifications, enabling the structured selection of beneficial components from a rightsized supply base.
- Sustainability: Work closely with the supplier network and internal cross-functional partners to actively support Siemens' sustainability goals.
- Innovation Management: Identify, screen, and evaluate innovative ideas, proposals, solutions, and products offered by suppliers, and develop, promote, and implement selected innovations that serve the innovation demand of cross-functional partners.
- Cost and Value Engineering: Support the business by handling and implementing Cost and Value Engineering projects in cross-functional collaboration, deriving efficiency measures from cost and price transparency.
- Supplier Portfolio Management: Influence the selection of preferred suppliers and components in the early design phase, provide technical expertise and cost information, and coordinate and drive pre-assessment and audit activities within the cross-functional team.
- Supplier Quality Management: Steer and execute the preventive Supplier Quality strategy, safeguarding conformance to valid and continuously improved requirements, improving supplier performance, and mitigating supply chain risks.
- Leadership and Network Building: Run and coordinate the global technology and quality networks, ensuring exchange of information in adequate frequency.
- Education: Completed university studies in electrical engineering, industrial engineering and management, or comparable fields.
- Experience: Longstanding professional experience in Supply Chain Management, product development, R&D, and/or engineering functions.
- Skills: Strategic innovative orientation, decision making, customer focus, aiming for results, building networks and partnerships, creative problem solving, critical thinking, analytical skills, negotiation, presentation, and moderation methods.
- Expertise: Expertise in the manufacturing and usage of the respective products, project management, cost analysis and optimization, and management of cross-functional and intercultural teams.
- Language Skills: Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
