With two strong locations in Bremen and Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, OHB System AG specializes in high-tech solutions for space, including low-orbiting and geostationary satellites for Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, science, and space exploration.
We are looking for a Subsystem Engineer (m/f/d) Communication Systems for permanent employment in our Communication & Radar Systems department at OHB System AG in Bremen.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support suppliers on transmitters, receivers, antennas, and radio frequency distribution networks on satellites.
- Take technical responsibility for communication subsystems on satellites.
- Create system specifications and product documentation.
- Review system requirements in satellite communications (Link Budgets).
- Support campaigns on satellite testing before and after rocket launch.
- Align with system engineering and other engineering departments regarding interfaces and technical parameters.
- Secure schedule, quality, and costs.
- Support ground equipment for tests of satellites.
- Support the creation of the technical part of commercial proposals and technical studies.
Your Qualifications
- Degree in electrical engineering, ideally specializing in communications engineering/high-frequency engineering, with initial professional experience desirable, preferably in the aerospace sector.
- Experience with measurement technology in the field of high-frequency measurement technology.
- Knowledge of waveguide technology is an advantage.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Matlab/Python is desirable.
- Structured way of working and hands-on mentality are not contradictory for you.
- Confident and professional handling of conflict situations (proof of relevant training or further education is an advantage).
- Ability to self-manage, especially in times of high workload with the involvement of the manager.
- Good written and spoken English, knowledge of German is a great advantage.
- Enjoy teamwork and variety.
- Proactive communication style and proactive way of working.
- Willingness to travel worldwide to carry out satellite tests and tests at ground stations.
