With over 3,000 employees, we specialize in high-tech solutions for space, including low-orbiting and geostationary satellites for Earth observation, navigation, telecommunications, science, and space exploration. We are looking for a Subsystem Engineer (m/f/d) Communication Systems to support suppliers on transmitters, receivers, antennas, and radio frequency distribution networks on satellites. The successful candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering, ideally specializing in communications engineering/high-frequency engineering, and experience with measurement technology in the field of high-frequency measurement technology. The role involves technical responsibility for communication subsystems on satellites, creation of system specifications and product documentation, and review of system requirements in satellite communications. The ideal candidate will have a structured way of working, hands-on mentality, and ability to self-manage, especially in times of high workload. Good written and spoken English, knowledge of German is a great advantage. Your Key Responsibilities:

* Support of suppliers on transmitters, receivers, antennas, and radio frequency distribution networks on satellites
* Technical responsibility for communication subsystems on satellites
* Creation of system specifications and product documentation
* Review of system requirements in satellite communications
* Support of campaigns on satellite testing before and after rocket launch
* Alignment with system engineering and other engineering departments with respect to interfaces and technical parameters
* Securing schedule, quality, and costs
* Support of ground equipment for tests of satellites
* Support during the creation of the technical part of commercial proposals and technical studies

Your Qualifications:

* Degree in electrical engineering, ideally specializing in communications engineering/high-frequency engineering
* Experience with measurement technology in the field of high-frequency measurement technology
* Knowledge of waveguide technology is an advantage
* Familiarity with scripting languages such as Matlab/Python is desirable
* Structured way of working and hands-on mentality
* Ability to self-manage, especially in times of high workload
* Good written and spoken English, knowledge of German is a great advantage
* Enjoy teamwork and variety
* Proactive communication style and proactive way of working
* Willingness to travel worldwide to carry out satellite tests and tests at ground stations
