DevOps Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team at DIGITEC Financial Technologies and Services GmbH. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our infrastructure, improving our client services, and driving continuous improvement across our systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve our internal Kubernetes cluster
  • Develop a monitoring concept based on our current system, taking datacenters into account and centralizing customer monitoring
  • Improve notification and alerting, defining thresholds
  • Manage customer configurations in SCM and integrate customer config in releases for delivery
  • Automate manual activities, such as log downloading and weekly service restarts
  • Improve tooling for multiple systems, including holidays and other similar activities
  • Manage VMs for customers, introduce containers to VMs, and improve delivery by defining independent services
  • Provision and manage a GitLab build runner/executor infrastructure, monitor projects for delays in build pipeline execution, and deploy software to various environments
  • Manage a Nexus repository, restricting artefacts accessible in-house by adhering to a security policy
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, system administration, or software development
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong knowledge in networking, TCP/IP protocols, routing, etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
