Annual Fund Officer

Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Annual Fund Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Institutional Advancement department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive annual fund strategy to engage and solicit support from alumni, friends, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a multi-channel annual fund plan, including direct mail, email, and phone solicitations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and community leaders
  • Manage and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies and tactics
  • Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement team to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan
  • Supervise and manage volunteers, including alumni ambassadors and fundraising event committees
  • Develop and implement stewardship and recognition programs to acknowledge and appreciate donors
  • Work closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in annual fund fundraising, including direct mail, email, and phone solicitations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, practices, and ethics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a higher education or non-profit environment
  • Knowledge of fundraising software and technology, including donor databases and online giving platforms
  • Experience with event planning and execution, including fundraising events and galas
