Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Molecular Cancer Biology

The research group of Jan Dörr at the MDC is seeking a postdoctoral research associate in molecular cancer biology.
We are an interdisciplinary and international team of enthusiastic scientists and doctors. Our laboratory investigates causes and consequences of tumor heterogeneity and treatment resistance in pediatric cancers.
The successful candidate will develop research projects in close cooperation with other research groups of the collaborative research center CRC1588:Decoding and Targeting Mechanisms of Neuroblastoma Evolution.
She/He will define the impact of genetic and phenotypic tumor heterogeneity on therapy resistance in neuroblastoma cell lines, patient-derived xenografts and patient samples before and after treatment with cytotoxic or targeted therapies.
He/She will conduct cutting-edge research in a protected, interactive, highly collaborative and well-funded environment, with access to shared facilities for sequencing, bioinformatics, imaging, metabolomics, flow cytometry, molecular pathology and mouse genome engineering.
The position is initially limited for the duration of the first CRC funding period. It can be extended for two additional periods of four years each based on successful evaluation at the end of the funding periods.
Research associates will receive sufficient time for their own scientific work in accordance with their employment contract.
We are looking for a recent graduate (PhD) or postdoctoral research scientist in cancer biology, biochemistry or molecular medicine.
The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record and ambition to pursue an academic career.
She/He will have trained in methods to analyse cell lines by functional genomics, molecular biology and molecular medicine.
