Join Our Team as a Power Automation Solutions Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Automation Solutions Engineer to join our team at Siemens AG. As a key member of our Power Automation Solutions team, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and rolling out engineering optimization activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical representation of Power Automation Solutions, including control and protection/substation automation systems portfolio
  • Definition, implementation, and rollout of engineering optimization activities, applying expert understanding of protection and automation solutions
  • Conducting feasibility studies to assess implementation strategies and priorities, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality delivery
  • Collaboration and coordination with R&D Teams, other Power Automation product PLMs, Global Engineering teams, and relevant partners
  • Development of training materials, conducting workshops, and providing continuous support and troubleshooting assistance for integrated engineering approaches and selected power automation products
  • Establishing metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented approaches and deriving improvement and optimization opportunities
  • Staying updated with advancements in engineering tools and technologies, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and nurturing innovation within global engineering teams
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control or Automation Engineering, or equivalent
  • Long-term professional experience in power automation
  • Proven experience in commissioning substation control and protection systems
  • Expertise in leading technical projects in power automation
  • Knowledge of HV and MV electrical networks
  • Proficiency in Siemens automation products and software, with familiarity with multiple vendors
  • Experience with Communication Network Technologies, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC61850, IEC/103/104, DNP, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards in control and automation systems (IEC62443, IEC62351) and IEC standards
  • Excellent English communication skills, with German or another second language a plus
  • Experience in cross-functional and international team collaboration
