Join Our Team as a Power Automation Solutions Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Automation Solutions Engineer to join our team at Siemens AG. As a key member of our Power Automation Solutions team, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and rolling out engineering optimization activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical representative of Power Automation Solutions, responsible for control and protection/substation automation systems portfolio
  • Define, implement, and roll out engineering optimization activities, applying expert understanding of protection and automation solutions
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess implementation strategies and priorities
  • Collaborate and coordinate with R&D Teams, other Power Automation product PLMs, Global Engineering teams, and other relevant partners
  • Develop training materials, conduct workshops, and provide continuous support and troubleshooting assistance for integrated engineering approaches and selected power automation products
  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented approaches and derive improvement and optimization opportunities
  • Stay updated with advancements in engineering tools and technologies, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and nurture innovation within the global engineering teams
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control or Automation Engineering or equivalent
  • Long-term professional experience in power automation
  • Proven experience in commissioning substation control and protection systems
  • Expertise in leading technical projects in power automation
  • Knowledge of HV and MV electrical networks
  • Proficiency in Siemens automation products and software; familiarity with multiple vendors is a plus
  • Experience with Communication Network Technologies, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as: IEC61850, IEC /-103/-104, DNP, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards in control and automation systems (IEC62443, IEC62351) and IEC standards
  • Excellent English communication skills; German or another second language is a plus
  • Experience in cross-functional and international team collaboration
